A few additional quick updates/info:
Book Sale @ Takoma Park Middle School Friday Feb 28 @5-7 PM, and Saturday March 1@ 10:AM – 1:00 PM Musical Fun(draiser) from the Friends of the Library, @ the VFW at Hell’s Bottom
6420 Orchard Ave, on March 1, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The funk-rock band The Magmatics will headline the evening. The VFW is at , Takoma Park. In addition to collecting donations at the door, we have donations from local businesses that will be raffled off during the evening.
Electricity Choices: Some advice for people who had Clean Choice electricity contracts which Pepco informed us would be ending. (This info comes courtesy of a neighbor with knowledge – so please do not call me with questions, because I will not be able to answer them):
Look into (1) community solar options (buying from an actual Maryland solar farm if you don’t have a suitable roof), or (2) installing rooftop solar on your home (either purchase or solar lease), or (3) staying with Pepco standard offer service, if you are not looking for green electricity.
Montgomery County Dept of Environmental Protection has resources for both community solar and rooftop solar here.
There are new community solar projects coming online this year. You can reserve a share in some cases.
